I know what you might be thinking, “Cookie dough made from chickpeas? No thanks! I’ll stick to eating raw cookie dough”. That’s what I thought too before I tried it. But trust me when I say it tastes exactly like traditional edible cookie dough, maybe even better. The key is to mash the chickpeas until there aren’t any chunks left. If you leave pieces of chickpeas in the dough, it will ruin the texture. And who wants chickpea pieces in their cookie dough? The only chunks we want are chocolate chunks.

This edible cookie dough is vegan, gluten free and is the perfect snack for both kids and adults! The best part? It’s packed with protein and fibre, making it the ultimate snack to satisfy your sweet cravings. Plus, it is super versatile so feel free to get creative with your mix-ins.


  • 2 Cups Chickpeas

  • 1/3 Cup Nut Butter

  • 1/4 Cup Maple Syrup

  • 1/4 Cup Oat Flour

  • 1tsp Vanilla

  • 1/2tsp Cinnamon

  • 1/4tsp Salt

Chocolate Birthday Cake Mix-Ins:

  • 1tbsp Cocoa Powder

  • 1tbsp Rainbow Sprinkles

Chocolate Chip Mix-Ins:

  • 2tbsp Vegan Choc Chips


  1. Using a food processor (or a fork) mash chickpeas until no chunks remain.

  2. Mix the nut butter, maple syrup and vanilla into mashed chickpeas. Scrape down side of bowl as needed.

  3. Add into flour, cinnamon and salt and stir until combined.

  4. Divide cookie dough into two equal portions. Use a spatula to fold chocolate chips into one portion and cocoa powder and sprinkles into the other portion.

  5. Cover and refrigerate until ready to eat.
